The HullManta III
The HullManta III is our 3rd generation of Hull Cleaning and inspection ROVs. Which means the Hull Cleaning machines are controlled and piloted from a containerized control center on our workboat, or a portable control station, positioned on the main deck of the vessel itself.
The ROVs can clean and inspect up to 85% of the submerged areas of a ship hull. Mainly the large surfaces, such as the Flat Bottom and the ships’ vertical sides. We can adjust the ROVs according to the circumstances such as type of coating, and the severity of marine growth.
Transparency
Onboard HD cameras record the entire cleaning process from the start till completion of each project. Ships officers can monitor our operations on screens, which provides total transparency. Our ROVs are not limited by swell and tidal currents. They will always remain operational regardless of the conditions, during daylight hours, but also during the night.
We have developed a Hull Cleaning method, which is the most suitable for Togo – Lomé. ROVs clean and inspect the large surfaces, while Divers clean and check all the niche areas. Before, during, and after the Hull Cleaning, an inspection is performed. During these inspections, we inspect the biofouling condition, and we check for damage to the Shell plates of the hull, weld seams, coating system, and all other appendages. All collected data is processed into a detailed final report. is
Our Diver/ technicians are equipped with ultra-modern, hydraulic driven Hull Cleaning units. They clean and inspect all the niche areas such as Bilge Keels, Sea Chest grids, the Rudder, and the Bulbous Bow. Excellent photo and video systems allow us to provide our clients with very detailed daily, and final reports.

A: ROVs can clean 85 up to 90% of a ship. Certain niche areas will need to be cleaned by Divers. These include the Rudder, Propeller, Bilge keels, Sea Chests, and all other appendages. These vital appendages are cleaned and inspected from up close by our skilled divers.
A: Unlike divers, ROVs are not limited by depth, in water conditions and maximum allowable dive times. Ships with a large draft often require large dive teams and a lot of equipment. Our ROVs can be operated by small crews. ROVs simply can not get any type of Decompression Illness or encounter personal injuries while operational. Therefore, it is an extremely safe way to perform underwater cleanings.
A: Our ROVs will achieve an equal or higher cleaning rate as the most professionally equipped diving companies. Our dive team working side by side with our ROV cleaning team is a golden combination.
A: Yes. Our ROVs are equipped with powerful onboard Led lights turning night into day. We can operate 24 hours a day with the ROVs. In Togo we are the only company able to clean at night.
A: Yes. The hydrodynamic designs of our ROVs in combination with powerful propulsion systems, are capable of handling strong currents in port, at anchorage and Offshore. Where divers or other ROVs are limited to almost ideal conditions… Our ROVs keep ongoing.
A: Yes. Our ROVs record all underwater operations in full HD. HYDROFLOW SUBSEA can provide these recordings on request.

A: Our ROVs are unique in many ways. They can be launched while working from our workboat, or they can be launched from the deck of the vessel itself. Especially Bulk carriers are very suitable for this approach. Working from the deck could hold benefits for the ship operators as well as for our ROV teams. It makes communication with the captain and other officers easy, and workboat costs can be kept low.
A: Underwater Hull Cleanings by ROV cost slightly more than cleanings performed by divers. Diving companies use relatively simple equipment. Our ROVs are advanced units with various state of the art, technical systems onboard. Cleaning by ROVs offers many advantages. It is safe, and it makes day & night operations possible. Also, It makes cleaning at difficult locations possible, and it can reach a cleaning rate equal to or higher than a professionally equipped dive team.
A: Yes. Various teams can operate simultaneously on different sections of a ship. Often, on our operations, you will see professional divers working side by side with our ROVs. The underwater robots clean the large surfaces while Divers clean and inspect the niche areas and report whenever abnormalities are discovered.

More and more niche areas of a vessel will be able to be cleaned by robots, minimizing the need for divers even more. HYDROFLOW SUBSEA acknowledges the many advantages of a professional dive team, and therefore we will always remain to offer commercial diving services as well. A one of a kind water filtration system will soon make it possible to perform Hull Cleanings in the most eco-friendly way possible. This reclaim system prevents invasive species from spreading into to foreign ecosystem.
A: Most ship operators acknowledge the importance of regularly performed in-water Hull Cleanings by reputable companies. Besides a lower fuel consumption, a higher travel speed may be achieved with the same amount of Rpm’s of the main engine(s). Bio-fouling is often the cause of vibrations, and it puts unnecessary strain on the hull and engine(s).

Propeller Polishing
HYDROFLOW SUBSEA SOLUTIONS is continuously changing and improving the old-fashioned ways in which underwater maintenance services are performed. In line with this mindset, we have developed a highly innovative Twin-disc Propeller polishing tool that is currently being used by underwater service providers around the globe.
What sets us apart from most companies that provide propeller polishing services is that we offer a 3-stage polishing method. We polish the propeller in 3 stages and achieve the highest grade on the Rupert scale, namely Grade A.
Removing Biofouling from Propellers might seem unnecessary. However, tests from independent bodies have confirmed that well-executed polishings can reduce fuel consumption by up to 7%. On the other hand, a poorly polished propeller can decrease the performance of a propeller.
Our in-house developed Propeller polisher is superior to any polishing tool on the market

Propeller Polishing Our Way:
HYDROFLOW SUBSEA SOLUTIONS believes polishing is the idea and not grinding. Our Diver/ technicians have all received training from a propulsion specialist company. Instead of just doing it, they know how and why to do it. A polishing is so much more than just making it shiny.
Because a propeller can cost millions of dollars, a specialist must provide maintenance to it. What we often see is that companies have used aggressive cleaning/polishing methods to remove Biofouling and the calcium layer that is present on every propeller after a short period.
Aggressive cleaning/polishing methods are fast, which makes them interesting for Diving Contractors only. Often, we see propellers full of swirls of hairline scratches. These scratches indicate that propeller material is removed which is not the purpose of polishing. From now on, it will be easier for marine-growth to settle in the scratches, and polishings will be needed more frequently.
